Terms of Use

Effective October 18, 2026

1. The agreement

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Yusuf Emirhan Şahin, an individual developer (“we”, “us”), who makes and runs Playtime. By downloading or using the Playtime app or this website you agree to these Terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). If these Terms and the Standard EULA conflict, these Terms apply to the extent permitted by Apple’s rules. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

2. Who can use Playtime

You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 if you live in the European Economic Area or the UK (or older if your country’s minimum age for using online services without parental consent is higher). Some couple-game decks contain mildly flirty content intended for adults and older teens. You can’t use Playtime if we’ve previously banned you.

3. Your account

  • You can play as a guest, or sign in with email, Apple or Google. Guest accounts live on your device: if you sign out of one or lose your phone without claiming it, you may lose access to it for good.
  • Keep your sign-in details safe. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else is using it.
  • Your display name must not impersonate anyone, include slurs or sexual content, or be offensive. We may rename accounts that break this rule.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings → Delete account. See the Privacy Policy for what that removes.

4. Playing fair and being decent

When you use Playtime, you agree not to:

  • harass, bully, threaten or demean other players, including through names, answers, drawings or decks;
  • post hateful, sexually explicit, violent or illegal content, or personal information about others;
  • cheat — including using bots, scripts or modified clients, exploiting bugs, colluding, or deliberately manipulating results, stats or achievements;
  • spam reports, invites or friend requests, or create accounts to get around a block or a ban;
  • interfere with Playtime’s servers, scrape it, reverse engineer it (except where the law allows), or access it other than through the app;
  • use Playtime for anything commercial or unlawful.

You can block and report players from a game or their profile. Blocking stops you from being matched or paired with each other.

5. What you write

Answers, drawings, custom decks, display names and other things you create in Playtime (“your content”) belong to you. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, display and transmit your content only as needed to run Playtime — for example, to show your answers to the other player in a game or to keep a finished game in your opponent’s history. This license ends when your content is deleted, except for copies kept in other players’ game history or that we must keep for moderation or legal reasons. You’re responsible for your content and promise you have the right to share it.

Couple games are designed for two people who know each other. Only share what you’re comfortable with the other player seeing — we can’t control what they do with it once it’s shown to them.

6. Moderation, suspension and termination

We review reports and may, at our discretion and without notice: remove or rename content, cancel games, restrict features, or suspend or ban accounts that break these Terms or put others at risk. Banned players can’t create or join games. If you think we got it wrong, email us and we’ll take another look. We may also discontinue Playtime or any part of it; if we shut the service down entirely we’ll try to give reasonable notice in the app.

You can stop using Playtime at any time. Sections 5 (license to keep content in others’ history), 9, 10, 11 and 12 survive termination.

7. Playtime Plus subscriptions

Playtime is free to play. Playtime Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription that adds a friends list, unlimited active games, premium board themes, custom couple decks and the full “Our answers” journal. Features may change over time; we’ll describe what’s included in the app.

  • Plans. Plus is offered as a monthly and a yearly subscription. Current prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.
  • Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase (or when a free trial ends).
  • Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Free trial. Where offered, the yearly plan may include a one-week free trial for eligible new subscribers. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
  • Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel any time in your device’s Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or from Profile → Settings → Manage subscription in Playtime. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Plus until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting the app or your Playtime account does not cancel your subscription.
  • Price changes. If the price changes, Apple will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent before renewing at the new price.
  • Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue refunds ourselves.
  • Restoring. Plus is linked to the Apple ID that bought it. Use “Restore purchases” on the Plus screen, or Manage subscription in Settings, to restore it on a new device or account.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law in your country, including any right to withdraw from a purchase.

8. Our stuff

Playtime — the app, its design, games, decks, illustrations, name and logo — belongs to us or our licensors. Subject to these Terms and the Standard EULA, we give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial enjoyment. Classic games like Connect 4 or Battleship are referred to by their common names; Playtime isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by any owners of related trademarks. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

9. Disclaimers

Playtime is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that Playtime will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available, that games, streaks or history will never be lost, or that other players will behave well.

We’re not responsible for what other players say or do. Couple-game prompts are for fun — they’re not relationship, medical or professional advice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, streaks, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Playtime. Our total liability for any claim relating to Playtime is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Playtime Plus in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.

Some places don’t allow these limits. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that can’t be excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or — if you’re a consumer in the EU or UK — your statutory rights.

11. Your responsibility

If you break these Terms or the law and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, to the extent the law allows.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Courts there have jurisdiction over disputes, except that if you’re a consumer you can also bring claims in the courts where you live, and you keep the protection of mandatory consumer laws of your country. Before going to court, please email us — most problems can be sorted out quickly.

13. Apple

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Playtime or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and isn’t responsible for any claims relating to it (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims). If Playtime fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you’re not in a country subject to a US government embargo and aren’t on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms as Playtime changes. We’ll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Playtime after that, the new Terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Playtime and delete your account.

15. The rest

If part of these Terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce something right away, we haven’t given up the right to. You can’t transfer these Terms to anyone else; we may transfer them to someone who takes over Playtime. These Terms, the Standard EULA and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Playtime.
